Frequently Asked Questions
Starting Lessons
What age do I need to be to start?
You must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid UK provisional driving licence before starting your course.
Do I need a provisional licence?
Yes. You need a valid UK provisional driving licence before you can take driving lessons on public roads.
Are your instructors fully qualified?
Yes. Lessons are delivered by fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructors. We do not use trainee instructors.
Will I be sharing the car with another learner?
No. Lessons are one-to-one with your instructor.
Courses and Prices
How much do your courses cost?
Prices depend on the number of hours you book. You can view all current options on our driving course prices page.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A non-refundable deposit secures your course. The remaining balance is paid at the start of your lessons.
How do I know which course to choose?

Do you offer automatic driving courses?
No. We offer manual driving courses only.
Crash Courses and Fast-Track Lessons
Can I pass in one week?
Some learners can, but only if they already have enough driving experience and are close to test standard. Read more on our 1 week driving course Glasgow page.
Are fast-track lessons the same as a crash course?
They are similar, but not always identical. Fast-track lessons can be more flexible, while a crash course is usually a more concentrated block. See our fast track driving lessons Glasgow page for more detail.
How many lessons does it take to pass?
It depends on your current standard. Near-test learners may only need a short refresher, while beginners usually need a longer course. See our guide to how many driving lessons you need.
Are intensive courses worth it?
They can be worth it if they save time and reduce wasted gaps between lessons. They are not worth it if you book too few hours or expect a guaranteed pass. Read our intensive driving course value guide.
Theory and Practical Tests
Do I need to pass my theory test before booking?
No. You can start lessons before passing your theory test, but you must pass it before taking your practical test.
Does the course price include the driving test?
No. Test fees are not included unless clearly stated. You can book your practical test through the official DVSA service.
How long is the wait for a driving test in Glasgow?
Waiting times can change. See our driving test waiting times Glasgow page for more information.
What happens if I fail my test?
If you fail, you can take extra lessons and rebook your test. Your instructor will help you focus on the faults that need fixing before another attempt.
